Pavle Milekić
M.A. Candidate, Center for Eurasian, Russian, and East European Studies
President
Pavle is a 2009 M.A. Candidate at the Center for Russian, East European,
and Eurasian Studies at Georgetown University, interested in the Balkans
and Russian foreign & security policy. Prior to coming to Georgetown he
graduated from the Johns Hopkins University with an honors double degree in
International Relations and Russian. He spent the past summer working for a
hedge fund in London; the summer before he interned with the investment
bank UBS. Pavle is currently working as a research assistant at the Eurasian
Strategy Project at GU. He is a native speaker of English and
Serbo-Croatian, fluent in Russian, and conversational in Italian. He was
born in Belgrade.

Leonid Godunov
M.A. Candidate, Center for Eurasian, Russian, and East European Studies
Vice President
Leonid is a first-year M.A.
candidate at the CERES program of Georgetown University. He graduated Summa
Cum Laude from College of William and Mary with a dual degree in history
and psychology. His main research interests include Russian domestic
policies in Chechnya, Islam in the Caucuses and Xenophobia in Modern
Russian Cinema. Leonid has worked in a number of organizations dealing with
Russia and Eastern Europe, and is currently doing research as the Kennan
Institute. He interpreted for the ISAF coalition forces in Central Asia and
has experience in the US military. Leonid is a native speaker of Russian,
but also knows French, Arabic and Ukrainian.

Jay Terloar
MSFS Candidate, School of Foreign Service
Chief Financial Officer
Jay is a 2010 Master of Science in Foreign Service candidate at Georgetown
University. His studies focus
on International Relations and Security, with a regional emphasis on Russia
and the post-Soviet republics.
Born in Gainesville, Florida, Jay majored in English literature at
the University of Florida. Upon
graduation he served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Ukraine and has also
worked as an teacher both domestically and abroad.

Emily Stromquist
M.A. Candidate, Center for Eurasian, Russian, and East European Studies
External Liaison
Emily is
a second year M.A. candidate in CERES at Georgetown. She received her B.A.
from the University of Pennsylvania with a dual major in International
Relations and Russian Language and Literature. Emily has worked in the
renewable energy sector for a company in the UAE, as a senior research
assistant for a project looking at democratic transitions in post-communist
Europe and Eurasia, as a consultant in the Middle East, and she is
currently with the U.S.-Russia Business Council in Washington, DC. Her
academic and professional interests include Russian domestic and foreign
policy and global energy issues.

Anna Melyakova
M.A. Candidate, Center for Eurasian, Russian, and East European Studies
Director of Operations
Anna is a 2010 MA candidate in Eurasian,
Russian and East European Studies (CERES) at Georgetown University School
of Foreign Service. She received her BA from Georgetown University in
Comparative Literature (Russian and German). Anna has worked as a research
assistant at the National Security Archive, concentrating on Russian
political elites during perestroika and the collapse of the Soviet
Union. She was born in Almaty and is a native speaker of Russian.

Zisa Sari
MSFS Candidate, School of Foreign Service
Director of Operations
I am a 2009 Master of Science in
Foreign Service candidate at Georgetown University. I received my B.A. from
Hacettepe University,
Economics Department. After two
years as an Assistant Revenue Expert at the Ministry of Finance of the
Republic of Turkey, I began to work as an Assistant Foreign Trade Expert at the Eurasia Department of The
Undersecretariat for Foreign Trade of The Republic of Turkey. I was
responsible for the Turkey’s trade relations between Russia, Ukraine,
Moldova, Belarus and Georgia. During my career there I worked on a number of different teams,
conducting research and organizing international meetings led by trade
ministers. I am a native
speaker of Turkish and also speak French.
